The following are the Cairns Post Office regulations revised to date:
The Telegraph Office is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m, and from 8 p.m. to 9
p.m. daily. Saturdays. 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. only. Sunday: Open from 9 a.m. to 9.30
a.m. Holidays: From 9 to 10 a.m., and from 3 to 6 p m.
Post Office open for delivery of letters and sale of stamps from 9 a.m.
to 6 p. m. daily. Sundays and holidays excepted
Registered! Letters from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m daily.
Parcel Post from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily
Money Orders and Postal Notes: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Saturday: 10 a.m.
to 12 Noon.
Duty Stamps, Impressed Forms, and Shipping Receipts: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
daily. Saturday: 10 a.m. to 12 Noon.
Savings Bank: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Saturday: 10 a.m. to 12 Noon, and
6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The mails close at the Post Office as follows:
Townsville and Southern ports, Wednesday and Saturday evening. Arrive from
Tuesday and Thursday by A.U.S.N. Co. Monday or Thursday by Adelaide Co.
Wednesday, by S S. Lass O'Gowrie.
Geraldton, Cardwell and Lucinda, Wednesday, 9 a.m. Arrive from, Tuesday
and Wednesday.
Port Douglas, Tuesday, 5.45 p.m. Arrive from, Wednesday and Saturday.
Port Douglas and Cooktown, Thursday afternoon.
Hambledon, Nelson and Aloomba. Daily, 9.10 a.m. Arrive from, daily, 9.15
a.m. Saturday, 2.30 p.m.
Mareeba and Railway line, daily, 3 p.m. also Tuesday, 8 p.m. Arrive
